InfernoBowling was a concept brought about by a friend who created a database to calculate bowling stats for our scratch trio league. The database provided great information, but we had to email it back and forth for each of us to have a copy.
Using the general database concept, InfernoBowling was developed first using Microsoft Access with much of the site hard-coded specifically to my current leagues. This site proved useful for data sharing and stat reporting; however, the site was not flexible enough to handle multiple leagues without major work.
In the spring of 2005, InfernoBowling was redesigned using MySQL database with a much more modular design. Currently, data from multiple leagues at multiple alleys are stored in the database, and the entire site is dynamically driven from user input.
